In a new interview with TechRadar, Elmo Games Online CEO and Co-Founder, Mark Nesbitt, spoke about the company’s recent announcement that it will be closing down its online gaming business, which includes Elmo: King of the Hill, the game that he co-founded in 2014 with fellow Silicon Valley entrepreneur and former Disney employee, Justin Long.
“We had been a company that operated in the online gaming space for about four years,” Nesbsbitt told TechRadars.
“And that was kind of our biggest challenge at that point, that it would become difficult for us to continue to operate our business on a profitable basis.
So we really felt like we needed to step back and look at our strategy for how we could operate on a more sustainable basis.”

But what I do want to say is that we have had some really great customers, people who are very passionate about their games, and who have been loyal customers.
So the company has had some very loyal customers over the last couple of years.
“There’s still a lot to do, but the company is now going to be very focused on the future of our business,” Nsbsbetts continued.
“That’s where we’re focused on.”
Games Online, which was founded by Nesbysbitt and Long in 2014, is a company founded by the duo to develop, market and distribute games for both mobile and PC platforms.
The company also offers a variety of other products, including games for social networking, webcams, and other mobile apps.
“At the end of the day, we want to build something that’s a great, easy-to-use online gaming experience for people who like Elmo, but are also looking to get involved in their community,” Nlesbetts said.
“In order to do that, we needed a product that was well-suited to that.
Nesbetts’ previous experience with games began back in 2014 when he was hired by the company to develop and market the popular mobile app Elmo in the same company that produces and markets Elmo games for other platforms. “
Elmo has always been a really popular game, and the platform has been a fantastic one to work on, so we were really excited about bringing this to market.”

After developing the app, he went on to create a company called Elmo Productions, which he ran from 2014 to 2017, and launched his own online gaming services company, Elmovision in the fall of 2017.
“As soon as I got back from Elmo,” Nescbsbets said, “I saw a lot more opportunity to develop games and make some money and expand my career in the gaming industry.”
The news that Games Online will be shuttering its online business comes as a surprise to many, and especially those who have followed the company over the past year.
Nesbits comments about the closure come after it was revealed in March that GamesOnline had gone public for the first time.
In the past month, the company released its second quarterly financial report and reported a $1.6 million loss for the three months ending June.
The news that the company would be shutting down came as a shock to many as GamesOnline was the company that was responsible for launching and marketing Elmo as a mobile game.
“When we first saw the news, it was really shocking, and really disappointing,” Nelsbetts told Techradars.
“It’s hard to explain,” he continued.
“That’s a very difficult time for a company to be in.

“One of the things that’s really interesting about our industry is that a lot, if not most, of the games that are on mobile platforms are games that you buy for the mobile apps,” he told Tech Radars.
